Vernissage „Lambert Krahe“ at Museum Kunstpalast, Düsseldorf

The SMKP sheds some light on its roots with the “Akademie.Sammlung.Krahe” show (“Academy.Collection.Krahe”): The Düsseldorf artist and founding director of the Academy of Art Lambert Krahe (15 March 1712 – 2 November 1790) laid the foundation for his internationally renowned collection during his extensive stay in the art capital Rome. Lambert Krahe’s collection is one of the few, if not the only collection gathered by an artist aimed at 18th-century artists that has survived in toto.
