Schirn Kunsthalle: “Esprit Montmartre”
/in All, Culture /by saschekA surprising lot of pornography, impressionism influence on Van Gogh and others, a bit too much of Picasso, and all in all a pleasantly large number of great paintings to discover in the “Esprit Montmartre” exhibition at the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt am Main.
Underestimated: Liebighaus in Frankfurt/ M.
/in All, Culture /by saschekRight next to Frankfurt’s impressive museum line-up along the Main river, but in the shadow of the more reputated ones and hence overlooked too often: The Liebighaus, collection of sculptures in a former villa. A gem. Read more →
The Economist plans to write about Hasbro’s move to crowdsource new rules for Monopoly
/in All, Entertainment /by saschekThe Economist announces plans to write about Hasbro’s move to crowdsource new rules for Monopoly: Hasbro, a toy and game-maker, is looking to allow fans to choose from an array of ten popular but unofficial house rules (such as receiving $400 rather than $200 for passing “Go”) with the most popular becoming official. Their invitation: If you can come up with some imaginative rules in the Monopoly spirit that reflect the reality of doing business today, post your suggestions on The Economist’s website and they could be printed in this week’s article: http://econ.st/Pb4QJI

Views on leadership from the 2014 Leadership³-Festival
/in All, Internet, Media, Telecommunications /by saschekA different view on leadership. A very, very different view, which I find a bit utopian but visionary and inspiring – make up your own mind by looking through the review.
The fashion book made it onto my weekend reading list because upon arbitrary opening, it offered: “Q: How many handbags does a woman really need? A: Five.”
/in All, Entertainment, Media /by saschekLearning #2: George Sand carried official permission from the French police to wear pants in public.
Oh, reading books is still one of my favorite pastimes! I consider it entertainment.
Dürer @ Gemäldegalerie, and a last visit to Neue Nationalgalerie
/in All, Culture /by saschekSaw the Dürer exhibition in the Gemaeldegalerie just before it closes. Love Dürer every time I see one of his works. Today’s discovery: A putto walking on stilts! I mean… Really!
(Btw, I really like the sitting corners – new? Haven’t been here for a while.)
…and while I’m at it: Catching a last glimpse at the Neue Nationalgalerie (New National Gallery) before it closes down for renovation for several years. Will miss it, already looking forward to the reopening!
