Schirn Kunsthalle: “Esprit Montmartre”

A surprising lot of pornography, impressionism influence on Van Gogh and others, a bit too much of Picasso, and all in all a pleasantly large number of great paintings to discover in the “Esprit Montmartre” exhibition at the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt am Main.

Underestimated: Liebighaus in Frankfurt/ M.

Right next to Frankfurt’s impressive museum line-up along the Main river, but in the shadow of the more reputated ones and hence overlooked too often: The Liebighaus, collection of sculptures in a former villa. A gem.
