Dürer @ Gemäldegalerie, and a last visit to Neue Nationalgalerie

Saw the Dürer exhibition in the Gemaeldegalerie just before it closes. Love Dürer every time I see one of his works. Today’s discovery: A putto walking on stilts! I mean… Really!
(Btw, I really like the sitting corners – new? Haven’t been here for a while.)

…and while I’m at it: Catching a last glimpse at the Neue Nationalgalerie (New National Gallery) before it closes down for renovation for several years. Will miss it, already looking forward to the reopening!

Vernissage „Lambert Krahe“ at Museum Kunstpalast, Düsseldorf

The SMKP sheds some light on its roots with the “Akademie.Sammlung.Krahe” show (“Academy.Collection.Krahe”): The Düsseldorf artist and founding director of the Academy of Art Lambert Krahe (15 March 1712 – 2 November 1790) laid the foundation for his internationally renowned collection during his extensive stay in the art capital Rome. Lambert Krahe’s collection is one of the few, if not the only collection gathered by an artist aimed at 18th-century artists that has survived in toto.
