Found on The Art Newspaper: “Saadiyat super tunnel will link Abu Dhabi’s big three museums” to make sure objects can be moved in a secure and climate-controlled environment. Well, museums are just really not ordinary buildings, and it cannot be emphasized often enough that standard planning processes would very likely lead to major problems!
New exhibition, but I still don’t really understand the concept for the future exhibition space in the castle-to-be. The castle building is visibly making progress, though.

Visited the National Tile Museum in Lisbon, Portugal – a very special one indeed, beautiful setting with a stunning collection: Museu Nacional do Azulejo
Spannendes Konzept, aber eine der grottigsten Besucherwegeführungen, die ich je erlebt habe. Ruiniert glatt die Perzeption. – (Exciting concept , but one of the worst ways to lead visitors through a show that I have ever experienced. Ruins the perception.)
“Kokoschka” – great show, unfortunately a bit too crowded today. I particularly enjoyed the collection of self portraits and the little movie featuring OK himself. Rough, clearly temporary exhibition architecture; such as walls in a workshop not meant to be a museum.

A surprising lot of pornography, impressionism influence on Van Gogh and others, a bit too much of Picasso, and all in all a pleasantly large number of great paintings to discover in the “Esprit Montmartre” exhibition at the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt am Main.
